2nd Annual BRDAA Ride Directors General Conference and Membership Meeting to be held October 14th, 2006 in Long Beach, CA
Long Beach, California
The Bicycle Ride Directors' Association of America will be hosting its second annual conference for Bicycle Ride Directors and a general membership meeting at the Long Beach Hyatt Regency on October 14th, in conjunction with the Long Beach Marathon and Bicycle Tour.
The program targets seasoned and/or new event directors, staff and associated industry vendors. It includes sessions on event operations, marketing, promotion, sponsorship, legal & insurance, fundraising and technology. Industry vendors will have an opportunity to display the latest in gear and merchandise.
The conference will include speakers with over 100 years of combined ride promotion experience, a leading bicycle attorney - Gary Brustin, and other associated experts in their fields. The conference agenda has been expanded and improved to include new topics and other information that will help ride directors to produce a more fun and profitable event.
"The conference will provide a valuable source of information and resources at a reasonable price that ride directors won't be able to find anywhere else...not to mention an opportunity to meet and talk with other experienced ride directors," said event producer Ed Moore.
Steven Taylor, Tour Director for Bike New York, will be the keynote speaker. Bike New York is the largest cycling event in the country with over 30,000 participants. Steven will share with us what is required to pull off closing 42 miles of road in downtown New York City and the other monumental tasks required to manage an event of this size.
Cost to attend the conference is $179 for non-BRDAA members and $154 for BRDAA members.
Non-BRDAA members can join BRDAA and register for the conference at a discount to the standard membership for $254.
