Retro Image Apparel Company Moves to Chicago/ Releases Two New Cycling Jerseys

The Retro Image Apparel Company (RIA) has moved its base headquarters to Chicago after five years in Seattle, WA where the company was founded.

The company will be hosting a major Pre-Interbike Open House on August 30, 2007 at its 1,700 square foot loft in Chicago's West Loop. Six new designs will be presented.

Founder Roger Mallete will be meeting with Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley on June 18th at the mayor's city hall office to discuss two RIA Co. programs for children; The Major Taylor Education Foundation and the Dr. Seuss Cat in the Hat Bicycle Safety Program. Both programs have established partnerships with prominent Chicago business and community leaders and both target Chicago Public Schools.

The company has several exciting new designs to wrap up 2007. Among the new designs available now and Holiday 2007 and Spring 2008 are the women's Cat Noir design and the men's Cycles Brillant. Both designs came out of production in early June.

Chat Noir
Le Chat Noir was a famous 19th century cabaret in the notoriously bohemian Montmartre district of Paris. It was opened 18 November, 1881 at 84 Boulevard Rouchechouart by the artist Rodolph-Alexandre Salis, and closed in 1897 (much to the disappointment of Picasso and others). It was here that the Salon des Arts Incohérents (Salon of Incoherent Arts), and the "shadow plays" got their start. The alluring and iconic poster was composed by Salis in 1896.

Cycles Brillant
A.M. Cassandre designed this poster for Cycles Brillant in 1923, fusing together the styles of Cubism and Surrealism. His designs are memorable for their simple and clever graphic solutions, constantly taunting the over-detailed Art Nouveau style. Cassandre stated, "A poster is to be viewed on the street." Wearing this art as a jersey is an affirmation and extension of the artist's original intent.

Retro Image Apparel jerseys are highly esteemed by customers such as Terry Precision Cycling, Performance, Inc,, Team Estrogen, The Colorado Cyclist and many more. Its direct marketing program offers fast and highly personalized attention to detail with a competative WSPP. They've founded the company on the strength of relationship building and strong design execution. Period.
