Jagwire augments presence in Europe with new partnership
07.11.2006 Bloomington, Minnesota
In an effort to improve product availability and increase customer services to its European customers, Jagwire has partnered with Velda Cabletechnics of Belgium. The partnership is expected to reduce shipment lead-times for European OEM customers and improve customer service.
"This move opens opportunities for our customers to have better access to our OEM inventory," stated Jerry Huang, Jagwire CEO. "Moving our OEM production facility from Ireland to central Europe puts Jagwire in a better position to support the majority of bicycle assemblers who still operate in this region."
Jagwire has already transitioned production and manufacturing of OEM and industrial components from its factory in Connick-on-Suir, Ireland to its new location within Velda Cabletechnics in Oudenaarde, Belgium.
"We are very eager to build long-term relationships in the cycling industry," said Jan Browaeys, general manager of Jagwire Europe. "We're looking forward to being the Jagwire connection to OE customers and increasing the company's visibility on the European bicycle landscape."
Jagwire is among the world's largest producers of cables and housing for bicycles. Jagwire serves the entire cycling industry, from independent bicycle dealers to large bike companies such as Giant, BMC and others. Jagwire distributes its products to over 40 countries from production facilities in Taiwan, China, and Belgium. Sales and marketing is handled by Jagwire USA, headquartered in Bloomington, MN.
