Chicago and Philadelphia NBDA Seminars draw 110 Bicycle Retailers from 65 Local Stores
10.25.2006 Costa Mesa, CA
The first two NBDA seminars hosted in Chicago and Philadelphia last week drew 110 people, mostly owners and managers, from 65 local area bicycle retailer stores. Presentations throughout the one-day events discussed topics that retailers could take home and implement within their businesses and see immediate benefits.
Sessions on Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to evaluate and set business performance bench marks, regional consumer research on cyclists buying habits, enhancing service department profitability and productivity, implementing advocacy as a business tool, and hiring and nurturing great employees all were embraced by attendees.
"Ideas discussed at these sessions could add directly to a participants' bottom line, and any dealer who feels that they don't have the time or resources to attend the event is the exact type who should be there and learn how they can overcome that situation," states Fred Clements, NBDA Executive Director. The Chicago event concluded with an NBDA endorsed meeting to reestablish a local Chicago chapter headed by Rich Evers of Two Seasons Cycle and Ski, in Hanover Park, IL.
Only three more regional NBDA seminars remain: Oct 27 in San Francisco, CA, November 3 in Denver, CO, and November 17 in Portland, OR. Attendance is free for NBDA members, $50 / person for non-members, with lunch and refreshments included for all.
