Social networking website MyByk connecting consumers and products in new ways
09.12.2007 San Francisco, California
MyByk is a social networking website for bikes and cyclists launching soon. Representatives from the company are now scheduling meetings at Interbike to preview the site's features and detail opportunities for cycling marketers. It is anticipated MyByk will be the most comprehensive online community for all segments of the cycling market upon launch.
Leading bicycle manufacturers, dealers and advocates have been actively involved in shaping MyByk and tuning its functionality to complement their efforts. This interaction has yielded several breakthroughs in how cycling industry stakeholders connect with individual riders.
MyByk's suite of tools includes the ability for companies to create and manage free profiles for brands, products, shops and services that members can integrate into their personal profiles.
Steve Parke, General Manager for the Ritchey and Syncros brands, observed, "With MyByk, we have found a great partner to get information about our products out to consumers in a way that's personal to them. Were excited about this prospect for Ritchey and Syncros."
MyByk represents the bicycle industry's first opportunity to take advantage of next-gen advertising and sponsorship programs found on sites like Facebook, MySpace and YouTube. Company founder Eric Anschutz suggests, "Cyclists are obsessed with their bikes. MyByk channeled this enthusiasm into redefining the relationship between cycling brand and consumer. The results are powerful."
