Members Needed for the Northwest Regional Leadership Advisory Council
IMBA Regional Leadership Advisory Councils (RLAC) are groups of mountain bike enthusiasts who are committed to supporting advocacy efforts on a regional basis. Anna Laxague, IMBA's Pacific Regional Director, is seeking RLAC volunteers to help provide strategic direction to IMBA and grassroots clubs based on assessment of opportunities, threats and resources in Oregon and Washington. Mountain bike enthusiasts, club leaders, land managers, members of the cycling industry, and anyone else who is passionate about growing the sport are encouraged to apply.

Santa Barbara Trail Restoration Effort a Huge Success
In Santa Barbara, more than 100 community volunteers joined local trail organizations -- as well as City, County, and Forest Service staff -- to make National Trails Day in the Jesusita Fire Burn Area a huge success. Volunteers worked on Jesusita, Tunnel, Rattlesnake, and West Fork trails, removing debris and significantly improving water control structures. Expert "trail bosses" instructed the volunteers on the use of trail tools, trail safety and trail maintenance techniques -- members included representatives from the following organizations: The Santa Barbara Mountain Bike Trail Volunteers, Santa Barbara County Trails Council, the Multi-use Trails Coalition, Los Padres Forest Association and the Sierra Club.

Forest Service Begins Management Plan Revision Process in California
The Pacific Southwest Region of the Forest Service will soon revise the management plans for the national forests in California. A Regional Planning Executive Team has been formed to guide and manage the revision process. The Forest Service will host a workshop at the McLellan Wildland Fire Training Center in Sacramento on July 1 (9 am to 4 pm). Please RSVP to Martha Maciel if you plan to attend the workshop. Participants will assist foresters in designing a public participation process for the Sierra Nevada CER that works for everyone. Another purpose for the workshop will be to discuss the initial outline and some of the content for the Sierra-wide CER.

Days Left to Support New Singletrack in Marin

TAKE ACTION NOW!

There are just a few days left to tell California State Parks that you support their decision to open a singletrack trail for mountain biking in Marin County. The commentary period ends June 26, this Friday. A successful opening of Bill's Trail will set the stage for bicycle access to several other singletrack trails in Marin. Please submit you coments right now -- IMBA's online action form takes just a few minutes to complete.

Have a few more minutes? Register your support for keeping parks open by visiting the California State Parks Foundation.
