IMBA California Leadership Council Convenes
The first meeting of the IMBA California Leadership Council was recently held in Sacramento. The Council is comprised of mountain bike leaders, advocates and industry representatives from throughout the state, who advise IMBA California on issues and opportunities for improving biking opportunities. The Council meets once each year with follow-up quarterly conference calls.

Mountain Bikers Meet with East Bay Park Officials
IMBA California and the Bicycle Trails Council of East Bay met with East Bay Park officials in Oakland to discuss the status of bike access in Regional Parks. Park managers were sympathetic to the request for more bike access and are willing to work with us.Mountain bike representatives will be supplying Park management with data on successful multi-use trails. For more information contact Tom Ward,

Marin County Bike Patrol
IMBA California held the first organizing meeting for the Marin Bike Patrol. Next stop is to meet with Marin land managers to decide on details of a patrol agreement. The Patrol is seen by State Parks management to be a vital element in improving relationships between bicyclists and other trail users in the county. If you are interested in joining the patrol, contact Tom Ward,

Squads Forming for Team IMBA 24 Hours of Moab
We're searching for teams of riders that will represent IMBA at the world-famous 24 Hours of Moab event this fall (Oct. 13-14, 2007). If you'd like to participate but don't have teammates, don't fret. We can place you with other riders. We will also support your team with great fundraising materials. Learn more at the Team IMBA resource center.

Take a Kid Mountain Biking in a National Park
National Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day is Oct. 6. Start planning your ride today! Consider conducting an event in a National Park unit. Check our online resources to find out if a National Park in your area has trails or dirt roads open to bikes. If so, you should work with the NPS staff to plan for a ride - you'll be helping a new generation gain an appreciation for America's most scenic parks.

Celebrate National Public Lands Day: Sept. 29
IMBA clubs and individual members should consider participating in the National Public Lands Day events being planned around the U.S. The 2007 goal is to pitch in on 1300 public land sites. You can register your event online.

VIDEO! Crew Rides with Winnipeg Bike Club
The good folks at Gord's Bike Club, in Winnipeg and Manitoba, recently hosted a Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew visit. Check out a nicely produced six-minute video of their group ride. Looks like everyone was having too much fun!
