Successful Legal Appeal Protects Bike Access in Southern California Forests
The most extensive appeal in IMBA's 19-year history has culminated in an agreement that will maintain widespread bicycle access in four National Forest units in Southern California. Hundreds of trail miles were at stake in the Angeles, Cleveland, Los Padres and San Bernardino forests.

Attention Ford Pinto Drivers
Tired of that knocking and ticking under the hood? As an IMBA member you could be sporting a brand new Subaru, and saving up to $3,300 as part of the IMBA Subaru VIP program. While you're hugging the curves you can smile about the fact that the folks at Subaru donated an additional $125 to IMBA's trailbuilding efforts. Know someone who might be in the market for new wheels later this year? Remind them to join IMBA soon - only members in good standing for six months are eligible.

Marin Open Space Asking for Input on Trails
Marin County Open Space and Parks is in the process of defining a strategic plan for it's more than 50 parks and open space lands that will determine the priorities for this major land manager in Marin for the next 15-20 years.

Join Team IMBA at 24 Hours of Moab
Mark Oct. 13-14 on your calendar and get ready to ride. IMBA has reserved Team IMBA entries in one of the nation's premier endurance events. It's hammering for a cause: you and your teammates be raising money for the IMBA Trailbuilding Fund. We'll support your squad all the way with training, nutritional help, travel and planning arrangements, as well as complete race and mechanical support at Camp IMBA. Write Patti Bonnet for details.

IMBA Executive Director Testifies on Trail Funding
In April, IMBA Executive Director Mike Van Abel testified at a congressional hearing focusing on federal appropriations for public lands. Van Abel spoke on behalf of the Outdoor Alliance, a coalition of six member-based organizations representing low-impact, human-powered sports.

Outdoor Industry Looking for a Few Good Kids
Nominations are being taken for the third class of Outdoor Idols. The Outdoor Industry Foundation (OIF) needs your help in identifying today's young stars and role models. This program raises the visibility of exceptional youth athletes who are motivating their peers and elevating the profile of their sports. OIF will unveil the 2007 summer class of Outdoor Idols at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market this August.

IMBA and NPS Enter Third Year of Partnership
Three years after entering a partnership agreement with the National Park Service (NPS), opportunities for mountain biking in NPS units are steadily improving. The Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crews will visit nine park units in 2007.

Support the IMBA Trailbuilding Fund
Great trails define our riding experiences and IMBA has become a world-renowned leader in trailbuilding. But quality trails are expensive - more than $2.50 per foot. We need your help make those trails a reality.
