IMBA at Interbike

09.23.2006
Boulder, Colorado

Join IMBA and our corporate supporters for these Interbike events.

Please stop by the IMBA booth early and often during the show. We're located in the Sands main hallway, on advocacy row: L-14 and L-13. See you in Vegas!

New Belgium Brewery will throw a raging party for IMBA at our booth on Wednesday, Sept. 29, from 3:30 to 5:30 pm. Come enjoy a Fat Tire Ale and chat with IMBA staff about their efforts to preserve and create quality trail experiences for mountain bikers. New and renewing members will receive a special gift from IMBA and New Belgium.

Camelbak will hold a fundraiser for IMBA throughout the three-day show. The new Camelbak Bottle will be available for $10 at the Camelbak (3537) and IMBA booths. All proceeds will go to IMBA to help preserve and create trail opportunities for mountain bikers everywhere.

On Thursday, Sept. 28, from 3:00 to 4:00 pm, legendary mountain biker and Specialized athlete Ned Overend will sign copies of Stumpjumper: 25 years of Mountain Biking at the IMBA booth. Autographed copies of the 128-page book and a one-year membership will be available for a $20 donation to IMBA. Proceeds from the event will be used to fuel IMBA's California office, which was established last year with the generous donation from Specialized Bicycles. Tom Ward, IMBA California's Policy Advisor, and IMBA Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew Nat and Rachel Lopes will be on hand to describe the work being done in the Golden State, and how the model can be extended to other regions.

Smith Sport Optics will be holding raffles throughout the show to benefit IMBA, with grand prizes awarded on Friday, Sept. 29 at 2:00 pm at the Smith booth (#3345). Items to be raffled include a Cervelo P-3 time trial frame, a Fender American Stratocaster guitar and a Santa Cruz Chameleon mountain bike. All items have been donated by their respective manufacturers to aid in the IMBA cause. Tickets are just $2, come with free beer, are available throughout the show at the Smith Optics and IMBA booths, and all proceeds will benefit IMBA.

The ninth annual Kona/IMBA Buck a Bowl Funraiser will take place on Thursday, September 28, at Las Vegas' fabulous Orleans Casino, where all hell will break loose for a great cause. Kona and IMBA invite you to take part in this great event, where all proceeds benefit the Kona /IMBA Freeride Grant Program. Cost is $200 for a team of four. See Mark Peterson at the Kona booth (#575) to reserve one of the few available lanes or just swing by the Orleans for the party. Check-in for lane assignments and shoe fittings will begin at 8:30 pm, and the traditional "First Strike for IMBA" will occur sometime after 9.
