Tune in to Live Race Coverage for Three Marquee Ultra-Endurance Mountain Bike Events in April and May

Follow the Dirt, Sweat and Gears, Trans-Iowa, and the Coolest 24 Hour as the Races Unfold on April 28 & 29th and May 4th & 5th, the only site on the web dedicated to ultra-endurance mountain bike racing, will feature live race coverage of three popular mid-season endurance mountain bike races. The coverage starts on April 28th with the Dirt, Sweat & Gears (DSG) 12 hour event in Fayetteville, Tennessee and the Trans-Iowa event the same weekend. DSG coverage will include live feeds of the chip-timed results from Kramer Race Services.

One week later the action resumes in Cool, California with the Coolest 24 Hour Race Against Cancer. Pit crews, team managers, and even spectators will be able to post audio updates to from their cell phones as the race takes place. Everyone from elite professionals to weekend warriors will be able to share their story as it unfolds.

"We're really excited about coverage of these three events, in particular the combination of chip-timing result feeds from DSG with color commentary from spectators, pit crews, and athletes after the race," said Karl Etzel, founder of "And of course Trans-Iowa has a huge following in the ultra-endurance scene because of the uniquely brutal format."

The Coolest 24 Hour is a second-year event with a big goal beyond just hosting a great race. "Last year our inaugural event raised over $30,000 for cancer research, and this year we are shooting for $70,000," said Jim Northey, promoter of the Coolest 24 Hour. diarist Yuri Hauswald (Marin Bikes) and founder Karl Etzel (X-Fusion/NiteRider) will be competing in the Coolest 24 along with single-speed superstar Roger Lackey and last year's female winner Marry Ellis. diarist Monique Sawicki (Team Ergon/Ellsworth) will be competing in the Dirt, Sweat, and Gears along with other endurance notables like Nat Ross, Rebecca Rusch, and Tinker Juarez.

The goal of is to help grow the sport of ultra-endurance MTB racing by providing content that informs and entertains. The site features a complete calendar of North American ultra-endurance MTB races, and provides a forum for racers to share their experiences in these events. Listing in the race calendar is free to event promoters. The site includes training, nutrition, and equipment information.
